Over the years a large, well-equipped workshop has been built up, where all types of Timber finishing is carried out. Laser Projects is one of the few companies which manufacture all cupboard components and modules on its own premises, where stringent quality control may be maintained.

The company uses high tech Computer Aided Drawing programmes, with designs rendered in full colour photographic simulation. Facilities and disciplines offered:

Turnkey Projects

Complete turnkey projects are a speciality. All disciplines are carried out by our own staff, except for electrical work, which is sub-contracted out. Laser Projects are equipped and staffed to take any project from concept and design through to final completion.

History

Derek de Jager founded Fin Shopfitters (Pty) and Fin Steel Fabrication (Pty) in 1983. From these 2 companies evolved Laser Projects, established in January 1987, specifically to service the Insurance Building Claims industry. In 1995 the holding company Derncor Projects cc was registered.

While built in cupboards and kitchen units have always been part of the company's fields of interest, these activities, up until 1997, were limited to the replacement of units damaged in terms of insurable events. In 1996 it was decided to enter the private market, and the cupboard manufacturing facilities were increased accordingly.

The company now also specialises in:

• Beds, futons, head boards, pedestals, dressing tables, complete dressing rooms etc
  
• Off-the-shelf self-assembly or pre-assembled Cash and Carry units, shelves, cupboards etc through selected outlets or email ordering. Delivery by road close to Johannesburg, or overnight long-distance courier. Franchises available in most areas throughout Africa.
